Introduction
The Venerable Zen Master Young San Seong Do
"Dharma, Dharma, Dharma!
Originally, no above.
Where could you search for Dharma?
No below, either.
How could living beings be saved?
The Dharma neither above
nor below -
This is a message of lotus flowers' blooming in the fire!"

Ven. Zen Master Y. S. Seong Do has practiced Patriarch Seon (Zen) for over thirty years. He spent many years in reclusive practice, moving from one lonely.hermitage to another in the depth of Korean mountains.

Thirty years ago, he received the dharma transmission by successfully passing through the Patriarch's Gongan (jap. Koan) from the great Venerable Zen Master Hye Am, a dharma disciple of the famous Venerable Zen Master Mangong, the most reverend Zen master in modern Korean history.

Since 1970 in Korea and abroad, Ven. Zen Master has given rise to the renaissance of social popularization of Korean Seon Buddhism (Daily life Seon / Seon for common people), by holding public workshops and lectures and by publishing his ideas through the media. He has inspired many people including monks and ordinary people who became sincere practitioners of Seon.

After having resided for that time in Korean Seon Temple, Seon Hak Won, he came to Berlin in 1998 and founded »International Zen-Temple« of a legal ecclesiastical corporation in Berlin.

He is now the abbot of the International Zen-Temple, guiding and giving lectures on the technique of Seon for those interested in the Gongan Seon Buddhism regardless of their nationality, religion and cultural background.
